Recital Week as a Dance Mom: Real Life Moments

We’ve officially reached the end of recital week, and now we get a much-needed break until January. After that, it’s full steam ahead as we prepare for competition season, nationals, and spring recital. This was our first year in a while juggling two classes, and she handled it like an absolute pro. Honestly, I think I was more nervous than she was — which, if I’m being honest, is pretty typical of a dance mom.

She continues to make incredible strides as a dancer, and she never lets her autism or ADHD hold her back. Dance can be stressful and expensive, but moments like hearing, “Did you see me, Mom?” make every bit of it worth it. She practices in her free time and will randomly break out into a routine around the house, and watching that never gets old.

Recital is such a special reminder of just how much hard work goes on behind the scenes. It’s the moment where everyone finally gets to see all the effort, growth, and dedication come together — and it’s truly amazing to witness.
